Who are Living History North East?
We are a charity run, regionally based oral history resource, following national standards.
What kind of work can I do?
There are several volunteer opportunities available, depending on your interests and abilities. These include:
- Interviewing people
- Transcribing and summarising
- Collection and record management
- Role play
- Victorian gardening
- Talks and presentations
- Outreach in schools and community centres
- Exhibition work
- Reception, office and shop work
- Research
- Get involved in social evenings

How many hours can I volunteer?
As everyone’s circumstances are different, we will work with you to decide what time you can commit to us.
Remember…
These oral memories and our regional heritage is at risk if we don’t preserve it now. Volunteer work with us can lead to all sorts of opportunities to develop yourself, and help your local heritage at the same time. You will be helping us preserve our traditions, but at the same time …
